12 weeks!

How your baby's growing: Your baby's hit the 2-inch mark (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce. His/her face is beginning to look more human. His/her eyes, which started out on the sides of his/her head, have moved closer together on his/her face, and his/her ears are near their final positions on the sides of his/her head. Your baby's intestines, which have grown so rapidly that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into the abdominal cavity about now. Kidneys are secreting urine into his/her bladder. His/her nerve cells have been multiplying rapidly, and synapses (neurological pathways in the brain) are forming. Your baby may have acquired more reflexes by now, including sucking, and s/he'll even squirm if you prod your abdomen.

We heard the baby's heartbeat yesterday - loud and strong, around 160 bpm.

I LOVE hearing the heart beat! It brings a smile to my face every time. I get to hear it again on Monday, and I am so excited. Baby "g" has been steady at 160 bpm all the way thru.

Congrats, Again!

Yeah s/he was around 165 this time, but I guess they stay there until around 20 weeks. It's amazing how much I've forgotten in 2 years!
